End Of TermPsalm 32:8

I Asked God And Got Nothing Back

This message is for the man facing a deadline with no clear direction, who has begun to read the silence itself as a verdict on him

You have asked properly and you have asked for months.

Not casually. You have set time aside. You have got up early for it. You have done the thing where a man says out loud that he will do whatever it is, whichever way, and means it.

And there has been nothing.

No sense of it. No verse landing. No conversation with anybody that turned out to be the answer arriving sideways. Nothing.

And there is a date.

Here is where you have got to, and it is the reason this needs writing.

You have started to read the silence.

Not as an absence. As a message. You have begun to think it means something about you, and the something is not good, and you have three theories about it and none of them is kind.

That is what a man does with a silence in front of a deadline. He fills it. And the material he fills it with is whatever he already suspected about himself.

There is a verse about how God guides and the method described in it is not what people assume.

I will guide thee with mine eye

The psalm has God saying how the guiding is going to be done.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:8, King James Version)

I will guide thee with mine eye.

Not with a voice. Not with a sentence. With an eye, which is how somebody guides another person across a crowded room without a single word being said.

You have been guided by a method that does not use words, and the Holy Spirit is the one who guides that way. Psalm 32:8 says with mine eye rather than with my voice, and He has been doing it for the whole of the months you have been asking.

Now sit with what an eye actually requires, because it is the whole thing.

A person guided by an eye has to be moving. You cannot direct somebody who is standing still with a look. There is nothing to adjust.

That is why the months have felt empty. A man waiting for a sentence before he moves is asking for a different method than the one on offer.

You have been waiting for the wrong instrument, and it is written I will guide thee with mine eye rather than I will tell thee where to go. The Spirit of God is the one who works with a man who is moving, and Psalm 32 says so in the method He names.

And there is the other half, the part about the silence being read.

Nothing in that verse makes the guiding conditional on anything the man does first. It is stated flatly. I will instruct. I will teach. I will guide.

Which means the silence is not a withholding. It is not a response to you and it is not a comment on you, and the three theories have no evidence anywhere in Scripture behind them.

You have not been getting a verdict, and the Holy Spirit is the one who has not withdrawn from a man for one day of those months. Scripture states the guiding as a plain intention rather than as a reward, and Psalm 32:8 is where the intention is stated.

What to do with a silence and a date

Let me be practical, because the date is real and it does not move.

The date requires a decision. That is a fact and no amount of waiting changes it, and a man who does not decide has still decided, by default, and by default is the worst of the available options.

And nothing in this article knows which way you should go. Those are facts about your figures and your family and your paperwork and they belong to you and to whoever advises you properly.

You are not being told which way to go, and the written word puts the guiding in God's method rather than in anybody's advice. The Spirit of God is the one who holds the content of it, and Psalm 32 leaves it entirely with Him.

What can be said is how to walk into it.

Not: wait until it is clear. It may not become clear and the date will arrive anyway.

Decide, plainly, out loud, and say that you are going ahead with Him in the room. That is a completely different posture from going ahead because nothing came, and the difference is not a technicality.

You are able to go ahead accompanied rather than abandoned, and the Holy Spirit is the one in the room when a man decides. It is written that the guiding is with an eye, which requires somebody already moving, and Psalm 32:8 is where the accompanying is described.

Decide out loud

So here is the thing to do, and it is before the date, and it is out loud.

Name the way. Plainly, in one sentence, on your own.

Then say: and I am going ahead with You in the room.

You are deciding accompanied rather than waiting for a sentence, and Psalm 32:8 says I will guide thee with mine eye. The Spirit of God is the one who receives that, and He is not going to comment on which way you said.

The reason the second sentence matters is that it changes what the decision is made of.

A man who decides because nothing came has decided out of exhaustion, and he will carry the decision as a resignation for years. A man who decides and says out loud that God is in the room has decided in company, and the guiding by the eye can begin the moment he is moving.

You have a posture available rather than a resignation, and the Holy Spirit is the one who guides that way. The written word puts the guiding on a man who is already walking, and Psalm 32:8 is why standing still was never going to work.

Then open in the morning and handle whatever the date brings.

The breakthrough

So here is what I believe is going out over a man who has asked for months and heard nothing.

You have been guided by somebody whose method does not require words, and a silence has never once been a verdict on the man standing in it. Psalm 32:8 says I will guide thee with mine eye, which is how a person is directed across a crowded room without a word, and the Holy Spirit has been doing that for the whole of the months.

And this, which is the word I came with:

You are able to go ahead accompanied rather than abandoned, and no eye anywhere has ever been able to guide a man who was standing perfectly still. It is written that the guiding is with an eye, and the Spirit of God is making that two sentences said out loud rather than a silence to be decoded.

Say which way. Then say He is in the room.

Declare this over yourself

  1. Silence of the last four months, you are not a verdict on this man. Psalm 32:8 says I will guide thee with mine eye, so by the Holy Spirit I say out loud which way I am going and then say He is in the room, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Three theories I have built out of nothing, you have no evidence anywhere in the written word. Scripture states the guiding as a plain intention rather than as a reward, and by the Holy Spirit I stop decoding a silence.
  3. Father, You said You would guide with Your eye, which needs a man already walking. Your word says I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go, so by Your Spirit I decide out loud, and I go ahead with You in the room.

Why we ask you to say these out loud

The word this stands on
